This idea just kinda popped into my head at work and voila, a fic was born. This is also the first one I'll post at mediaminer, so review people!! Oh yeah, feedback is much appreciated. Mistress_tsunami@yahoo.com And I think that I kinda forgot to put a disclaimer on the other chapters, so yeah, as you know, I don't own the G-boys or their gundams, but I'd really like to. Unfortunately, I'm only a poor student who is bad at history. Go copy paste... ******** = scene change "talking" ::Humanity.:: /Thoughts./ ******* * Heero was assaulted the moment he walked in the door. Or, at least, that's how he saw it. It took all his self control not to lash out at the people that he *knew* were Sammy's family, who were currently hugging the breath out of him. Once he was allowed room to breathe, Sammy made introductions. "'Agi, this is my mother, jus call her mom, my father, jus call him dad, and my older brother, Justin." She leaned over to whisper in his ear, "Watch out, he tends to be a bit over-protective." Heero respectfully bowed to the family. "Pleased to meet you. My name is Usagi." "Oh, she's so polite!" Mom cooed, and Heero was pulled into another hug. "Momma! She's tired, and so am I! Can we get some sleep, now, please?" "Did you have any trouble on the way here, Sam?" Justin asked. "You're late." Not wanting to get his friend in trouble, Heero spoke up, "She was talking me through some of my troubles, so we took a walk for a little while. I think we circled the same block about five times!" Sammy blinked at him. "I didn't think you were paying *that* close attention." Heero shifted slightly. "It's an old habit," was all he offered for an explanation. "Would you like something to eat?" Mom asked. "That would be wonderful, thank you," Heero said. "So how long will you be staying here on L2, Usagi?" Dad asked. Well, he couldn't lie, so Heero ad-libbed a bit. "I'm not really sure. My sister and I came here to finish a project for our mother, but we finished that sooner than expected, and she told us to stay here a while for a vacation of sorts, so I'm not sure when we'll be called back." "Really? Where does your mother work?" "In...engineering. We were supposed to find some parts and have them shipped to her. Supposedly, you could only get them in person on L2, and they were supposed to be hard to find, but Meiran has already found and shipped them, so we're good to leave whenever she calls us." "Do you always travel like that for your mother?" That was Justin. "On occasion, when she feels that we need a break from our usual school and life." They entered the dining room and Heero was able to avoid any more questions by focusing on the meal that they placed before him. Not long after, he followed Sammy up into the room that they would share for the night, the guest-room having not been prepared yet. As he headed towards the bathroom to change, Sammy asked him a question. "Hey Usagi?" "Yes?" "Did you mean it?" "Mean what?" "About being a...boy?" /Oh shit./ "Yes," his voice was quiet. "And the guy you like, is really a guy, too?" "Yes." "Oh. Ok, then." "You...don't mind?" "Nah. But you don't have to go to the bathroom every time you need to change. I don't care. Just, keep the boxers or whatever on, ok?" Heero was slowly turning red. "So long as you keep your underwear on when you change." "Um, I'm sorry about...yeah." "It's ok." By this time, both were beat red, and growing redder by the minute. Heero slowly turned away and stripped off his shirt and stuffed bra. "Oh, ouch, that must hurt," Sammy commented when she saw what he had been wearing. "You get used to it after a while. Besides, it's not permanent. It's not like I usually um...cross dress..." Heero slowed as he realized what he had been saying. "Not that I ever plan on doing it again, at least not if I don't have to...what's so funny?" He demanded of Sammy, who was laughing on the one and only bed in the room. "Just think about what you were talking about! I'm sorry, it's just that I never imagined that my roommate would ever be homo!" "Is that bad?" Heero asked, shirtless and slightly worried. "No way! That is so cool!" Heero sighed. "You might be the only one who thinks so." "Hey, I promised I wouldn't tell and I won't. Now hurry up and change so that we can go to bed." There was a slight pause. "Ok, now that just sounded wrong." "I agree." "Maybe we should just...uh..." "Pretend I was still a girl?" "Yeah, yeah that sounds good." Heero quickly finished changing and slipped under the covers as Sammy slipped in from the other side, turning off the light. "Goodnight,...Hey, what's your name, anyway?" "Huh?" "Usagi's a girl name." "It doesn't matter. It's best not to get mixed up in all that." "Ok. Goodnight 'agi." "Night." ********** ::...:: /Aren't you going to say something?/ ::...:: /Ok, I admit it, I am human. I'm...experiencing things. Not that they scare me or anything, It's just that I'm only now learning to deal. /And you were right about Sammy, she didn't care. I think she considers me a close enough friend for it not to matter. I'm just thankful I didn't have any guns with me when I changed. And she's helping me deal with my Duo problem. She actually put a name to the emotion. She said it was love. /But she's not an expert, is she?/ ::...:: /Humanity? Hey, how come I'm doing all the talking here?/ An image of a bright, violet-eyed boy comes to mind. /It used to be *him* doing all the talking. I can't see how he didn't get tired of doing it. /Was that it? Was that why he left to live with Hilde? He was tired of talking to all of us and us hardly ever talking back? That must've been it. I guess we have to make up for that, huh? /We could try it out at this school. Like you said, we won't see any of these people later, and it's not like Wufei'll notice. I hardly ever see him anyway. Hm, I wonder why Sammy didn't ask about him. Probably doesn't matter to her. /What are we going to do about this shopping trip? Will she change? She's a good friend, and I don't have many of those. I think, if she truly accepts me, then I might, just *might*, mind you, keep in contact with her after this mission. Hah! Like she'd let me do otherwise!/ ::...:: /So, about this mission you so fervently wanted me to accept. I think it needs some new revisions. You said we needed to work on social skills. Well, I think, before that, we need to work on emotions. I've got some of it figured out, and I still have a little over a week to get through the rest. Sammy and the gang can help. /Next, I need to at least *talk* to Duo. This is really getting to me, you know? The not knowing what he's doing, if he's all right. Hell, right now he could be sick or dying and I wouldn't even know it! /Then, Duo can help me through the rest of my social skills, as you call them. With the gang, I'm definitely talking more than usual, so I think that's a good thing. And things are definitely starting to look up at school. The others don't look at me and pity me anymore. I'm not the shy social outcast they perceived me to be at first. /Hm...but I wonder what Wufei's been doing if he hasn't been working that much on the mission.../ ::...:: ************ "Is he gone?" "Yeah. He left earlier with that girl, Sammy. She's been good for him. I think that this has been a success so far." "So, why are we at my house, me back to normal, and you steering clear of the vidphone every time it rings?" "Because I think he will eventually call." "Fei, it's 2 in the morning, if anyone did call, I wouldn't answer!" "Maxwell, that's rude." "So's callin when people should be asleep, hint, hint." *sigh* "Where's the guest-room?" "Down the hall, third door on the right. Don't wake up Hilde.....Hey Fei? What do we do if he doesn't call?" "Then I think our so-called vacation gets extended." "Oh. Ok. I can deal with that." "What is the problem?" "I'm having doubts. I mean, he's never said anything or done anything before to indicate that he's interested, what if I'm wrong, and it's just a one-way deal? I couldn't stand hurting him, 'Fei." "Duo, if he doesn't come around in three weeks, I will find someone he loves, and make sure he's happy, and you're going to help me." "You love him too, huh?" "Yes, but he loves you, and so I will help him to realize that." "But I don't want you hurt either, Wu." "My happiness is his happiness, Duo. I had my chance at love, and I failed to protect her. All that I have loved in the war have died, except for him. I will not force his soul to die as well only to save mine." "How'd we manage this, Fei? Getting him to go to an all-girl school. I mean, he's done this before, what if nothing happens to change him? What if it doesn't matter to him and it was only the mission?" "Then he is worse off than we thought, and it will take a lot more work to break his training than we thought. But, for everyone's sake, I hope that's not the case." "Me too. Hey Fei, everyone I loved died, too. Same with Heero, if he ever really loved anyone. Do you think we're cursed?" "If we're cursed, Maxwell, then it runs in our family." "Huh?" "The three of us are a family. Whether you know it or not, I consider you my brother, Maxwell, and Heero...I wish it could be more, but if I cannot have a lover who loves me back, then I will settle for a brother who sees me as a friend instead." "You're so noble, Fei. Where do you get the strength?" "In knowing that if I did something to hurt myself, then I would hurt my family, and if I hurt my family, then I would hurt myself, and consequently hurt them more, until no one can escape." "Strong words." "But hard to live by, Maxwell. Trust me, it's the hardest thing in the world to do. Goodnight, and try not to think too hard about Yuy. Thinking will only make it worse. I told you I'd take care of it, and I will." "Thanks." ********** TBC... Okay , I wanna take the time to thank the people who have posted replies to this fic so far! ^-^ *smiles* I know by the time I post this, your reviews will have been there for a while, but I was writing this one just after I posted part four, and it took me a while to figure out mediaminer's format. I'm kinda new there, if you haven't figured that out yet, so I'm working on it. Just so you know, it's probably going to be about 8 chapters long, and I'll probably finish posting about Mon or Tues, assuming that I can get to a computer every day. I missed a day after Ch. Four, so it might be a bit longer than expected, but I'll let you know. And I just wanna say Yeah! I'm getting reviews! Sowwy, but this is a rare event for me. ^-^ +{Previous Chapter}+{Next Chapter}+ to Tsunami’s fics.
